“With Arms Wide Open”

General Information

ARW is a five-day training experience in recreation ministry hosted by Montreat Conference Center. The 2008 workshop, directed by Roger Maness, is designed for pastors, educators, church instructors, or anyone interested in recreation leadership.

In addition to scheduled courses, the following activities are included to complete your ARW experience:

• Daily worship and inspirational singing;
• Barn Dance with live music and great dancing;
• Fun evening events full of program and leadership ideas;
• Bookstore loaded with books and other resources;
• Record bar offering dance recordings and other resources;
• ARW store with hand-crafted items and recreation resources;
• Free time to enjoy the beautiful Montreat area; and
• An auction of hand-made and unique novelty items that benefits the ARW scholarship fund.

Pre-conference events (additional charge)

• Sunday, May 4, 1-5 PM, Outdoor Adventure with High and Low Challenge Course Activities; and
• Monday, May 5, 8:15 AM, 8th Annual Fun Golf Scramble.
