  • Marcia Myers, Louisville, KY, (Keynote) Director of the Office of Vocation, PCUSA
  • Carol McDonald, Indianapolis, IN, (Worship Leader) Co-Executive, Synod of Lincoln Trails

Workshop Leaders

  • Rick Wilson, Huntington, WV, Cabell-Huntington Hospital, Department of Pastoral Care

Pre-Conference Workshops

(Wed., Oct. 22, 2:30-4:30 PM)

  • God Views, Jack Haberer, Richmond, VA
  • Vocations, Marcia Myers, Louisville, KY

Conference Workshops

(Thurs., Oct. 23, 9:15-11:15 AM; repeated 2-4 PM)

  • Preaching from the New Testament, Lamar Williamson, Montreat, NC
  • Preaching from the Old Testament, Bob Newman, Charleston, WV
  • Conflict in the Small Church, Sue Krummel, Peoria, IL. How do we address conflict when it involves members of the “family” instead of persons we see only once a week?
  • The Practice of Pastoral Care in Ministry, Rick Wilson, Huntington, WV. Anxieties about parishoners’ problems can keep spiritual caregivers see-sawing between running away and becoming over involved. Learn specific ways to listen and care for those in need without overfunctioning or withdrawing.
