Have you longed for an intimate, alive relationship with God? Have you ever wanted to cry out with the disciples, “Lord, teach us/teach me to pray. . . please.” God meets us where we are and knows our longings. Come with fellow pilgrims to enter a time set aside to be still and explore ways of engaging with God in prayer through scripture, art, journaling, movement, nature, music, silence, and finding new meaning in ancient words. Come with openness to the surprises of God, the hidden holies of ordinary life. We will worship together, have time in community together, time in small groups and time alone.

Leader: Roberta Parker Martin is a fellow pilgrim on the spiritual journey, awed by the mystery, surprises, and vastness of God’s love. amazed by the depth and freshness of Scripture, grateful for fellow companions. She is a Presbyterian (USA) minister, writer, retreat leader, spiritual director, mentor for students in spiritual direction and dreamwork at Haden Institute, sometimes a teacher, more often a learner from those she companions. She finds great joy in exploring the mountain trails, sitting by a flowing stream, and breathing in the beauty of God’s creation which surround her in Black Mountain, NC. • Program fee: $390 per person

This program is offered as part of the Certificate in Spiritual Formation Program at Columbia Theological Seminary and serves as course credit. Auditors are welcome, but must also register through Columbia Seminary. Accommodations

Rates are per person and include all room and meal charges for the entire conference (Thursday supper – Sunday lunch). No adjustments to package will be made except for extended stay. Questions about reserving housing in Assembly Inn? Email SusanA[at]montreat.org.

Refund Policy

Refunds for program fee are subject to the policies of the Spiritual Formation Program at Columbia Theological Seminary.

Refunds for housing in Assembly Inn will be awarded in the following ways: Full refund if notice of cancellation is received on or before March 15; full refund less $40 if notice of cancellation is received after March 15, but before April 19; no refunds will be given after April 19; all requests for refunds must be in writing and received by Montreat Conference Center via email, fax, or U.S. mail.
