Worship & Music Conference

“A New Heaven and a New Earth”

For everyone committed to worship in the church – pastors, musicians, choir members, worship committee members, children and youth.

The Presbyterian Association of Musicians (PAM) sponsors two identical Worship and Music conferences at Montreat Conference Center each summer. These conferences, guided by the principles of Reformed worship, provide opportunities for vital worship experiences and offer venues to explore various ways to enrich the liturgical life of the local church. During the 2013 conference, participants will participate in choirs, instrumental playing, handbell ringing, liturgical dance, and Orff playing. Conferees will also have opportunities for seminars on preaching, spirituality, bible study, and hymnody and world music. Pastors, church musicians, choir singers, instrumentalists, children, and youth will all unite to anticipate “A New Heaven and a New Earth” through our worship together.

Registration Information

CONFERENCE RATES:

Rates below include conference fee only. Housing and meals are not included. Questions regarding conference registration? Email the registrar at pam[at]pcusa.org or call 888.728.7228, ext. 5288.

Adults (age 22 and up)

  • $393 on or before April 15
  • $443 after April 16
  • $468 after May 24

Young Adults (age 18-21) Conferees 18 years old, whether in high school or not, may register as either Young Adult or Senior High.

  • $253 on or before April 15
  • $303 after April 15
  • $328 after May 24

Senior High (rising grades 10-12); Middlers (rising grades 7-9); Children (rising grades 4-6)

  • $253 on or before April 15
  • $303 after April 15
  • $328 after May 24

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:

Registration opens November 15, 2012. There are three ways to register for the conference: online, mail, or fax.

Online: The best method is to visit the PAM website, www.presbymusic.org, and register through the interactive registration process. The online registration process allows you to choose exactly which classes you want and the times the classes meet. All class periods have enrollment limits; register early to get the class times you prefer. You will receive an email confirmation and other necessary documents immediately after you register. The online registration allows funds to be paid by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and by check. All groups over 15 are REQUIRED to register online.

Register for the Worship & Music Conference (beginning November 15, 2012)

Mail: You may fill out the registration form and mail it with your check or credit card information (please photocopy the form in order to use a separate form for each registration). All class periods have enrollment limits. Mail to: Presbyterian Association of Musicians, 2012 Montreat Conferences on Worship and Music, 100 Witherspoon Street, Louisville, KY 40202-1396.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE:

Registration will close when the PAM National Office receives 1,250 registrations for each week. Many classes fill early so register now! Walk-in late registrations at Montreat will be accepted, but will have limited class offerings. In the event that a conference week reaches capacity, registrations will be held in the order of receipt in case of cancellations. For further information, contact the PAM National Office (888.728.7228, ext. 5288).

Accommodations at Assembly Inn, Winsborough, or Glen Rock Inn

HOUSING & MEAL RATES:

Rates for Assembly Inn, Winsborough, and Glen Rock Inn are per person and include all room and meal charges for the entire conference (Sunday supper-Saturday breakfast). Additional Costs for Children’s Meals

  • Children 12 and older: $173.31
  • Children ages 5-11: $88.04
  • Children under 5: no charge

RESERVATION PROCEDURE:

We have reserved a special room block for this conference. When you make your reservation online, you will be asked to enter the group ID “music1” or “music2” and password “montreat” to access these rooms. Refund Policy

Refunds for program fee are subject to policies of the Presbyterian Association of Musicians. Please see the 2013 Worship & Music booklet for details.

Refunds for housing in Assembly Inn, Winsborough, and Glen Rock Inn will be awarded in the following ways: Full refund if notice of cancellation is received on or before May 6 (week I) or May 13 (week II); Full refund less $40 if notice of cancellation is received after May 6 but before June 10 (week I) or after May 13 but before June 17 (week II); No refunds will be given after June 10 (week I) or June 17 (week II); All requests for refunds must be in writing and received by Montreat Conference Center via email, fax, or U.S. mail.

  • Child Care is available for this event. Pre-registration is required. Enrollment is limited. You must register at least 30 days in advance to guarantee enrollment in the program. Enrollment is not guaranteed for walk-in registrations.
