2014 Worship and Music Conferences

“Rise, O Church, Like Christ Arisen”

For everyone committed to the work of worship in the church— pastors, musicians, choir members, worship committee members, children and youth.

The Presbyterian Association of Musicians (PAM) works in cooperation with the Montreat Conference Center to offer two identical Worship and Music conferences each summer. Guided by the principles of Reformed worship, conferees explore opportunities for vital worship experiences and enriching the liturgical life of the local church.

In 2014, the conference will be guided by the hymn text “Rise, O Church, Like Christ Arisen,” written by Susan Palo Cherwien, embracing the many different charateristics that make up the Church. Annual offerings of worship, preaching seminars, Bible study, and choral and instrumental music will continue the high standard of worship arts at Montreat. New offerings for Young Adults will include a seminar on vocational discernment and young adult round tables with access to key faculty for conversation.

Adults (age 22 and up)

Young Adults (age 18-21) Conferees 18 years old, whether in high school or not, may register as either Young Adult or Senior High.

Individuals wishing to participate in both weeks of the Montreat Worship & Music conference may register for the first week rate (based on when their original registration is submitted) plus $175.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:

Registration is now open! There are three ways to register for the conference: online, mail, or fax.

Online: The best method is to visit the PAM website, www.presbymusic.org, and register through the interactive registration process. The online registration process allows you to choose exactly which classes you want and the times the classes meet. All class periods have enrollment limits; register early to get the class times you prefer. You will receive an email confirmation and other necessary documents immediately after you register. The online registration allows funds to be paid by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and by check. All groups over 15 are REQUIRED to register online.

Mail: You may fill out the registration form and mail it with your check or credit card information (please photocopy the form in order to use a separate form for each registration). All class periods have enrollment limits. Mail to: Presbyterian Association of Musicians, 2012 Montreat Conferences on Worship and Music, 100 Witherspoon Street, Louisville, KY 40202-1396.

Fax: You may fill out the registration form and fax it to 502.569.8456 with your credit card information (please photocopy the form in order to use a separate form for each registration).

REGISTRATION DEADLINE:

Registration will close when the PAM National Office receives 1,250 registrations for each week. Many classes fill early so register now! Walk-in late registrations at Montreat will be accepted, but will have limited class offerings. In the event that a conference week reaches capacity, registrations will be held in the order of receipt in case of cancellations. Accommodations at Assembly Inn, Winsborough, or Glen Rock Inn

HOUSING & MEAL RATES:

Rates for Assembly Inn, Winsborough, and Glen Rock Inn are per person and include all room charges (Sunday through Friday night) and meal charges for the entire conference (Sunday supper through Saturday breakfast). HOUSING RESERVATION PROCEDURE:

Reservations for accommodations are now being accepted.

Online: We have reserved a special room block for this conference. When you make your reservation online, you will be asked to enter the group ID “musicA” or “musicB” and password “montreat” to access these rooms. Refund Policy

Refunds for program fee are subject to policies of the Presbyterian Association of Musicians. Please see the 2013 Worship & Music booklet for details.

Refunds for housing in Assembly Inn, Winsborough, and Glen Rock Inn will be awarded in the following ways: Full refund if notice of cancellation is received on or before May 5 (week I) or May 12 (week II); Full refund less $40 if notice of cancellation is received after May 5 but before June 9 (week I) or after May 12 but before June 16 (week II); No refunds will be given after June 9 (week I) or June 16 (week II); All requests for refunds must be in writing and received by Montreat Conference Center via email, fax, or U.S. mail.

  • Continuing Education Units (C.E.U.s) are available for this conference.
  • Child Care is available for this event. Pre-registration is required. Enrollment is limited. You must register at least 30 days in advance to guarantee enrollment in the program. Enrollment is not guaranteed for walk-in registrations.
