July 4th in Montreat: Through the Years

posted on Jun. 30, 2017

Since the late 1800s, families have been celebrating July 4th in Montreat. The most common activities included flag raisings, picnics, and some family traditions. In 1969, however, conference center summer staffers Glenn Bannerman and Larry Wilson ushered in the first iteration of what Montreat Conference Center continues to host today. Steeped in tradition, yet ever-changing, the July 4th Celebration in Montreat is fun for the whole family. Check out a couple of the events (old and new) that will be offered this year. We hope if you’re near you’ll come check out the events in Montreat this July 4th! All are welcome here.
