An exciting look at the Reformation and its lasting impact on today’s Protestant churches will be the focus of the Reformation 500: A National Conference in Montreat, organized and sponsored by the Presbyterian Heritage Center.
Celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, this event offers outstanding speakers and panelists in both plenary sessions and breakout workshops covering such topics as:
- Pre-Reformation: The Beginning (The 150 Years before 1517), from Wycliffe, Lollards, Hus to Luther
- The Reformation: First 50 Years (1517 – 1567) from Luther to Calvin to Knox to the Counter-Reformation
- The Reformation: Conflict & Chaos (1568 – 1685)
- The Reformation Comes To America (1620 – 1760)
- Music of the Reformation
- How to Bring the Reformation Alive in your Church’s Bible Study, Sunday School Classes, and Youth Groups
- The Reformation’s Impact on Families
The conference will cover the heritage of the Reformation, but most importantly, will provide music directors and choir members, Christian educators and Sunday School attendees, preachers and congregants with a deeper insight into the most significant event in the past millennium. We will also provide practical ideas, resources, lesson plans and much more!
