More Information

Skiing on Sunday
Montreat Conference Center does not make arrangements with the ski resort for Sunday skiing; but we will be happy to provide a skiers’ breakfast at 6:30 AM upon advance request. Transportation will not be provided to the slopes on Sunday.

Ski Apparel
Layers are best. Thermal underwear bottoms are essential. A knitted hat will conserve 40% of the body’s heat. Good ski gloves are really worth the money, and eye protection is recommended. Feet do best in a thin sock liner covered by a single, thick boot sock. Water-resistant pants are suggested for beginner skiers, and especially for beginner snowboarders.

Ski Slope Conditions
For quick and easy access to slope conditions at Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, call 800.784.2768, or visit their website at www.skisugar.com.

Activities for Non-Skiers
Those choosing to stay in Montreat will participate in recreational events in the morning, and will have the afternoon free to explore the area on their own. Suggestions we provide may include: hiking, a climbing gym, bowling, miniature golf, movies, shopping, museums, and a nature center. (Some off-site activities may cost extra.) It is recommended that groups agree ahead of time on an alternate activity for Saturday afternoon in the case of warm weather.
