For church professionals and lay people, Columbia Theological Seminary’s Center for Lifelong Learning provides non-degree courses and events—opportunities to learn with and from others for faithful discipleship.
The Certificate in Spiritual Formation program offers an exploration of community-grounded Christian spirituality that is rooted in scripture and theology; a history of the tradition; reading in the spiritual classics; prayer and meditation; and skills for assisting others on a spiritual journey.
Participants in the certificate program will gain a broad understanding of the Christian spiritual tradition and the various practices which have emerged from it.
These courses fulfill the requirements to complete the Certificate in Spiritual Formation and are also open to anyone who is interested in taking classes as an occasional participant. You do not need to be enrolled in the certificate program to register.
