Arrangements Staff

Qualifications: High school diploma; one year of college preferred; congenial personality with demonstrated public relations skills; ability to work independently; willingness to work weekends and varying shifts as needed: 7:00 AM-3:00 PM, 3:00-11:00 PM or swing; ability to meet the “Physical Requirements of the Job” outlined below; familiarity with basic audio/visual equipment; and flexibility to perform a wide variety of tasks in meeting guest needs.

Responsibilities: Set meeting rooms, recreational facilities, and other areas for guest activities; clean meeting rooms and other public areas; setup and test audio-visual equipment as requested; maintain exterior areas around Assembly Inn; collect mail and deliver to Post Office; deliver and setup coffee breaks, snacks; remove trash from public areas and offices; and perform a number of other tasks in service to hotel guests and in support of other hotel departments.

Accountability: This position reports to the Arrangements Director.

Benefits: Montreat Conference Center provides housing, including utilities; a food stipend is available.

Physical Requirements of the Job:

  • the stamina to be standing, walking, lifting, and carrying 7.5 hours a day;
  • ability to lift and carry tables weighing up to 60 lbs. repeatedly during a 7.5 hour day; and
  • ability to climb an 8-foot stepladder to change light bulbs.

Effect on End Results: Guests are pleased with meeting areas that are clean and properly set up 30 minutes in advance with tables/chairs and AV equipment in working order; teamwork with other hotel departments insures that public areas and offices are clean and free of trash; and a variety of miscellaneous tasks are being performed competently and in a timely manner.
